Free at last
Two days ago Aung San Suu Kyi was finally released from house arrest, which she had been put under for about fifteen of the last twenty years. Although its great that she is finally free, who knows how long the Junta will let her stay free...
This article here gives us a little insight into her release; my favorite quote from her here has to be 'We should walk together, united. Only then can we acheive our goal'. She is seriously awesome.

The votes are in, now they just have to count them...
So on the 7th November the first 'democratic' election in twenty years in Burma came to a close, but we are still possibly weeks away from finding out the result. This article shows the first trickles of news we have about the results, and although they are leaning heavily towards the Junta backed parties, the Union and Solidarity Development Party (USDP) and the National Unity Party (NUP) are not completely dominatin the election.
